About
CDL offers a 5-day business mentorship program over 9 months for early-stage startups focused on scientific or technological innovation. It operates across 13 international sites, each hosting specialized venture cohorts. Ventures are matched with mentors (entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, and economists) in technology, vertical, or market-specific pools for optimal support. Participation is competitive, with ventures requiring mentor endorsement for continued sessions. CDL does not provide lab space or charge any fees or equity for participation.

Tips to prepare for an interview:
During an interview, tell CDL staff why you are passionate about your work and why you are the team to accomplish the goals you have set out for yourself. Be honest about your weak spots, and consider how our mentorship pool can support your company's growth through their extensive expertise and experience. CDL is uniquely positioned to support ventures confident enough to be vulnerable about where they need support. As a mentorship-first program, there needs to be interest in engaging with our Mentors to be a strong fit with the program.
What are the fees to participate?
There are no fees for participation. CDL is a non-profit funded through partnerships and philanthropy. The cost of CDL is time; your time for our mentors' time.
CDL no longer participates in the Startup VISA program.
We can offer a letter of support for teams accepted into CDL who need support to travel to our mentorship program. However, we do not directly support creating and relocating a venture as our program structure (outlined below my signature) does not permit our participation.
